Stop-Motion is a way of making animation movies. It's pretty simple to do, only takes a lot of time :P it goes like this: you take a picture of something, move it a fraction, take another picture, move it again, take another picture, and so on, and so on.
One of the most famous stop-motion movies is probably "The Nightmare Before Christmas". It's also one of the best in my opinion.
But besides actual movies, it can be used for lots of other things as well.
Like music video's for instance, like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_HXUhShhmY
Or this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=miKESDnpcRU
But also for short animations, like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0LtUX_6IXY
Or this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywqu_8RIDvU&feature=channel
I've also made one myself, of a paper crane folding itself :P https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJCsuItuSFI
Just to give you an idea of how much pictures go into this: I made 641 pictures and it's a clip on 1 minute and 44 seconds :P ... though I should have done more frames per second to make it more fluid... it'd be even shorter then xD ...
so, have you ever seen a good stop motion animation, what are your thoughts on it, or have you ever made one? This is the place to discus it ;)
