~MoonLights Drawing Lair~

I wanted to show you guys something I made ^^
It's a project I did for drawing class... It's actually my exam xP Im not really proud of it, but I do like the dragon :)



I hope it works with the picture though >.< I really happen to suck at this!

i saw ur work up close during my last art class o.o indeed the dragon on top is really nicely done and it stands out more considering it is more detailed then the rest, i am not quite sure what ur idea was so i am not going to comment further then this until i do. Otherwise i might get the wrong idea and be a bit too harsh none the less it is a nice piece

Well, as I promised.. a few sketches on how to use materials for marble.. ahmm.. I took them out of an artbook I made ages ago ^^:; about how to make landscapes.. I hope it's going to be usefull.. but yeah.. here goes:


This is how you do reflection in water.. Try to mingle colours, in this case paint, and make it look good.. water is made horizontal.. very simple ^^ The reflections go horizontal too.. its no waves like in kidspics XD


Another one with reflection.. this time its a tree.. actually.. for trees you need a big paintbrush.. and round.. so you can dot the colours on the paper.. That gives the best effect ^^ dont use one colour for trees.. or anything else.. try to mingle a few colours to make it look cooler ^^ in this pic.. I used only basic colours.. so the tree is made of blue and yellow..


Here you see the "guidinglines" which I was talking about sometime to marble.. The curves of the mountain and of the river lead you to the middle of the painting.. It's an effect that's used a lot in art ^^


A good way to start: just mingle colours.. see what happens when you try to flow two colours into eachother and how to do it.. in this pic.. the paint is also dotted onto the paper with a big brush


A nice effect.. try using a coloured paper to paint on.. my teacher somehow was fond of this icy landscape.. I think its no more than a sketch like they all are <.<


the last one for now.. a picture of an autumn landscape.. also very nice to experiment with colours ^^ everything is dotted.. even the sky.. except for the little tree trunks.. with trees, make sure you do the trunks first btw.. and then do the leaves over it.. like you see in nature ^^ the leaves arent sticked behind it right?

Also.. if you want to try making some art... make sure to LOOK very carefully.. It's all about seeing.. and then putting it on paper ^^

Hope it's useful so far Marble ^^ I havent posted what I wanted to be honest.. I will do that too some time XD But at least now you can get started with your sets ;)

oeh, very nice~ ^_^ I haven't painted in a while (except for the shoes)... I gotta try it again soon, and your tips will help, thanks ^_^ I really like the ones with the reflection in the water.. the combination of dotting on land and strokes in water is nice

lol yeah those assignments were fun, experimenting and learning to make trees, water, air and such, what was Mr. van de Bandt's opinion of it?

See folks, I SUCK at painting. Never could do it. I am ok at pencil but...when I had a paintbrush, I recked everything I ever touched. But then again I never really had an art class like you've had. My art classes..we didn't really learn anything about art..just how to make things..and it wasn't all that brilliant. >.< Hopefully with Moonlight's help, I can be better! :D

meneer van der Bandt.. damn.. dunno what my teach said.. he liked the winter one.. Had some comments in my book with "nicely done, the painting" or stuff like that.. not really much.. got a seven for all of it... but then again.. there were some pics that sucked which of course I didnt add here XD
